STAKE REVIEW 2026
Independent, data-led review — see our methodology · Last updated
Overview
Stake.com is the undisputed #1 crypto casino by deposit volume — processing $1.86B monthly from roughly 2.55 million transactions. Founded in 2017 by Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani and operated by Medium Rare N.V. (Curacao), Stake pioneered the modern crypto casino model combining provably fair original games, 0x-wagering VIP rakeback, and seamless cryptocurrency integration. Even with a marginal -1% volume dip this month, Stake's dominance over competitors is absolute — it processes well over 4× more than second-place Roobet ($418M). The platform accepts 20+ cryptocurrencies, offers 3,000+ casino games, and includes a fully functional sportsbook. Two honest caveats sit alongside that scale: its Curacao licence carries lighter player protections than the UKGC or MGA, and in September 2023 Stake suffered a $41M hot-wallet hack (covered in detail below) which Stake says left customer balances whole. Stake.com is geo-restricted in the US (the separate StakeUS sweepstakes brand serves some states), and is no longer available in the UK (exited March 2025), with France, the Netherlands and other jurisdictions also blocked.

💰 Bonus Details — Itemized & Honest
Let's be straight about this, because most affiliate sites are not: Stake.com runs no standard deposit-match welcome bonus and no no-deposit bonus by default. A deposit is always required. The value instead comes from a tiered VIP rakeback model. A 200% first-deposit match does exist, but only if you sign up through a referral/promo code — and it carries real wagering terms. Here is exactly what that looks like:
| Term | Promo-code first-deposit match |
|---|---|
| Match & cap | 200% — commonly up to ~$2,000–$3,000 (varies by code) |
| Default offer without a code | None — no deposit match, no no-deposit bonus |
| Min. deposit | ~$10 |
| Wagering requirement | ~40× (deposit + bonus) |
| Wagering contribution | Games ≤96% RTP count 100%; higher-RTP games contribute proportionally less (e.g. 99% RTP ≈ $4 wagered per $1 counted) |
| Expiry | 30 days |
| Verification | Level 2 KYC required; credited ~24–48h after review |
| Max bet while bonus active | Not published by Stake — confirm in-app before betting big |
The real engine is the VIP program, not a match. Stake runs 14 tiers (Bronze → Diamond). Base rakeback starts at roughly 5% at VIP entry (around $10,000 wagered) and scales up by tier, paid on every bet with zero wagering requirements. On top of that, VIPs get weekly and monthly bonuses — though these are delivered manually (via a Telegram link), not auto-credited. Originals players also share Daily Races prize pools. Because promo offers and codes shift frequently, treat the figures above as the current pattern and confirm the live terms on Stake before depositing.
🎁 Claim This Bonus →✦ We verified Stake's provably-fair games — here's how
This is where Stake genuinely earns trust, and it is something you can check yourself rather than take on faith. Stake's in-house Originals (Dice, Plinko, Mines, Crash, Limbo, Hilo, Keno, Wheel, Diamonds and more) are provably fair: every result is derived from a server seed + your client seed + a nonce, combined through HMAC-SHA256. Crucially, Stake publishes the hashed server seed before you play — a cryptographic commitment it cannot change after the fact.
- 1.Before betting, Stake shows you the SHA-256 hash of its server seed — locking in the result set in advance.
- 2.You can set your own client seed, so you contribute randomness Stake can't predict.
- 3.When you rotate seeds, Stake reveals the previous unhashed server seed. You can hash it yourself and confirm it matches the commitment.
- 4.Re-run the server seed + client seed + nonce through HMAC-SHA256 and you reproduce the exact outcome of any past bet — independently, with no trust in Stake required.
We confirmed Stake exposes all four steps and that the per-game maths is documented (for example, Dice maps the resulting float via float×10001/100). Don't take our word for it either — paste your own server seed, client seed and nonce into our free Provably Fair Verifier and recompute a bet in seconds. New to the concept? Start with our explainer, What is provably fair gambling? (Note: this verification covers Stake's Originals; third-party slots and live games are instead SEAL-certified by GameCheck.)
Security & track record — the honest picture
Stake is an established, highly profitable operator, but it is not without history, and we won't pretend otherwise. On 4 September 2023, Stake suffered a ~$41M hot-wallet hack across Ethereum, BSC and Polygon; the FBI attributed it to North Korea's Lazarus Group. Co-founder Ed Craven disputed that private keys were compromised, framing it as a breach of a transaction-authorization service. Per Stake, player balances were unaffected and reimbursed, and there has been no insolvency since. Independently, Casino.Guru assigns Stake a Safety Index of 7.9/10 ("Above average") and found no unfair or predatory terms in its T&Cs; Trustpilot sits around 3.9/5 across thousands of reviews. Stake also exited the UK in March 2025 following a UK Gambling Commission investigation. None of this makes Stake a scam — but a Curacao licence offers lighter recourse than the UKGC/MGA, so size your bankroll accordingly.
